MatTek Corporation was founded in 1985 by two chemical engineering professors from MIT and has grown into a global industry leader in tissue engineering; producing ready-to-use, normal (non-transformed), 3-D human cell-derived, fully differentiated, organotypic In Vitro Tissue equivalents for use in product development and efficacy, claims substantiation, safety assessment, and target organ research applications.

MatTek also produces specialized cultureware products that allow researchers to produce high-resolution microscopic images of cultures growing in standard-size disposable plastic petri dishes, and Multi-Well plates in various configurations that allow the use of smaller volumes of reagents.
