In vitro models which are predictive of the in vivo situation save considerable time and money. With high rates of efficacy and safety failures in the clinic, drug developers need to ensure that improved prediction of clinical effect is achieved earlier in the drug development pipeline.
But how do you achieve validation of a new in vitro assay or model? How have different tools performed so far and what new technologies are being developed? What are the challenges and opportunities of integrating stem cells into the pre-clinical space for safety and efficacy screening and investigation?
The 2nd Annual Predictive In Vitro Models summit brings together the world’s experts in Boston this year to tackle these challenges. In putting together this meeting we have spoken to leading drug developers and academia, to identify the most critical issues currently facing the industry and turned this into an essential program.
Why Attend?
- Discover novel ways to integrate models into pre-clinical drug development
- Analyze different approaches to improve in vitro to in vivo concordance
- Debate the importance of ADME, PK and pharmacogenetic considerations in pre-clinical in vitro assessments
- Understand the required criteria to achieve scientific validation of your model
- Hear case studies on how in vitro models have performed in industry
- Discuss the scientific challenges of using stem cell-derived in vitro models
- Weigh up the most promising, new tools that are being developed with greater pre-clinical predictive value
- Discuss collaborative approaches to in vitro model development

What's the History?
Last year's delegates left the event having gained excellent insight into new technology and methodologies. Alongside the content, the event benefited from participation a diverse and engaged audience. The event was such a success that an amazing 95% of the delegates said that they would reccommend the event to a colleague.
Building on last year's success, Predictive In Vitro Models 2011 will again, provide a focussed forum for pharma, biotechs and academia to share best practice and find solutions for developing better models to predict drug efficacy and toxicity.
Here's just one piece of feedback from last year's event:
“Excellent state-of-the-art for in vitro technology and practical pharma examples. An extremely good snapshot of where the field is"
Katya Tsaioun, CSO, Cyprotex
